2005 USAPL American Open Powerlifting Championships
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Dear USA Powerlifting Member:

Greetings! It is my pleasure to announce to you that the 4th USAPL American Open Powerlifting Championships will be held on December 10 & 11, 2005 in King of Prussia (suburbs of Philadelphia), Pennsylvania.

As in years past, the American Open Championships has been especially formatted for the intermediate and grassroots level lifter, desiring to gain valuable national platform experience prior to lifting at either the Men's or Women's National Powerlifting Championships.

Moreover, guest lifter slots are available for elite level lifters to sharpen their skills and to set IPF world records. Important to note, all first place finishers, registered in the men's & women's open division, shall automatically qualify, regardless of total, for the 2006 USAPL Men's & Women's National Powerlifting Championships.

In addition to the championship, on Friday evening, December 09, 2005, a training seminar, free of charge, shall be held at the venue. In year's past we have had the pleasure of having Dr. Larry Maile, and Dr. Robert Wagner conduct the seminar. This year's instructor has not yet been secured yet, however, as information become available; it shall be posted onto the championship website.

Moreover, on Saturday evening, we shall conduct the USAPL American Invitational Bench Press and IPF North American Cup Bench Press Championships, which may include American lifters squaring off against lifters from Canada in a team match, with the possibility of several world record holders attending this championship.

The platform equipment for the contest will be international caliber, and will include the ER squat racks/bench press, calibrated chrome Ivanko bar and weights, Sorinex weightlifting platform, Barload software program, as well as a computerized scoring system. The warm-up room shall include three [3] platforms, with Sorinex and Serpa equipment, along with York Barbell bars and weights.

If you require powerlifting gear, commercial sellers will be available with the most up-to-date equipment to accommodate your specific needs. Also, official USAPL merchandise will be available as well, so please take advantage of these two offers.

Finally, for further information pertaining to the contest, I would encourage you to visit the official championship web-site, which can be found at the following URL: http://www.geocities.com/floridausapl/2005AmericanOpen

Contest applications can be downloaded from the website in both *.doc and *.PDF format.
