The USAPL Coaching Committee is requesting resumes from candidates for coaching positions for 2010. Head coaching positions will be for a 3 year term. As of now, the two head coaching positions open are for the Masters Powerlifting Team and the Junior Bench Press Team (this is a new team). 2009 USA Powerlifting National Governing Body Meeting

All current USAPL members are invited to attend the 2009 National Governing Body Meeting. This will be on June 11th , 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel Denver, CO.

The official agenda will be posted on the USA Powerlifting web-site the week of May 25th. Below you will find the listings for elections and honorary awards. If you would like to nominate yourself for an elected position or someone for an honorary award, please notify Angela Simons at usapl.simons@gmail.com

A reminder to all State Chairs and voting members: if you are planning to proxy your vote to another member you must notify USAPL Secretary, Angela Simons, by mail or email. Your proxy must also carry a copy of the letter with your signature to the NGB meeting before they are given your voting card. State Chairs must proxy their vote to a member from their state. All voting members must have a current membership.

2009 Women's Committee Meeting Minutes

2009 Women's Committee Meeting was held in 2/14 in Miami, FL during Women's Nationals. The following are the meeting minutes:

1) 2011 meet bid went to Atlanta

2) Moving Women's Nationals to the 3rd weekend in May - Passed

NOTE - 2010 Women's Nationals will be in Cleveland, May 22-23

3) Hall of Fame Fund - Passed

4) Committee members voted in: Disa Hatfield, Paula Houston and Souix-z Hartwig-Gary

5) Top reasons on the survey for not attending 2009 Nationals; Economy, Date of Nationals.

Also noted, the Hall of Fame Inductees for 2009: Cyndi Regan and Larry Maile.

Club Coach Certification Seminar - May 23 & 24

The Rocky Mountain Lifting Club will be hosting a new Club Coach Certification seminar on May 23 and 24th, 2009. The class will be held at the Rocky Mountain Lifting Club located at 1600 S. Abilene St. Aurora, CO 80012. Three different levels of coaching certification will be offered: Club Coach, Senior National Coach, and Senior International Coach.
